Meet the Doc

Dr. Veronica Nguyen was raised in Southern California where she grew up with backyard chickens, ducks, and quails. Throughout the years, she noticed a lack of availability in care and educational resources for backyard poultry owners, and this soon became her passion project as she pursued a career in veterinary medicine.

Upon graduation from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023, she continued her poultry training at California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory. In 2025, she became board-certified as a poultry veterinarian. With her training and deep care for her backyard poultry community, she created Small Flock Doc.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, stargazing, collecting new hobbies, and doing puzzles with her family.
